The word “hatha” comes from the Sanscrit terms “ha” meaning “sun” and “tha” meaning “moon”. Hatha Yoga describes any of the physical practices of yoga, be it Iyengar, Ashtanga, Yin, Kundalini or any other form.
Hatha Yoga aims to create balance between the physical and mental, body and mind and unite pairs of opposites referring to the positive (sun) and negative (moon) currents in the human system.
